There is a similar problem with the Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard in which just about *any* linux distribution will not run on it. Obviously not Fedora related but this implicates a much broader range in linux.

Hi Johnny.
Good footwork.
Hopefully this one will be squashed, it is a bad bug. It is assigned allready, but designated new, so just keep a close eye at the page you poated, for status changes, you may also want to take part in the debugging process if you have the time, it would help speed-up the process, but looking at number for messages in the comments, this one is sure to get fixed soon.

Just a heads up in case anyone out there has an ASUS P4P800 series MB and
hopes to install Fedora Core 2. I am confident that most of you are smarter
than I and would read the release notes first before working through the
night trying to figure out why I could even get anaconda to load. What a
waste of a night and I didnt even get close to trying hardware SATA Raid
dual booting yet.

From Release Notes:

Attempts to install Fedora Core 2 on ASUS motherboards in the P4P800
series may not proceed past the "Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the
kernel." message, making installation impossible. No workaround is
available at this time. For more information, monitor bug 121819:
