Subject: Re: [clug-talk] Jerry Pournelle
Incoming from Graham Monk:
As some of you may know, Jerry Pournelle has a web site called
Chaos Manor
that covers various subjects including politics, space flight,
SciFi and
computers.
A while back Jerry was going on about the latest windows virus
and I offered
to send Him copies of some modern Distros to try. Today He
wrote back and
gave Me an address. I will be sending copies of Knoppix, SuSE
9.0 and SuSE
live 9.1. Does anybody want to volunteer anything else to add
to the package?
Bravo! I love Jerry's stuff. Way to go Graham! If he has any
trouble with anything you send him, you might point out to him that
there's quite a few newbie friendly distros out there nowadays.
Knoppix, yes, but Libranet comes to mind too. They have a very newbie
friendly mailing list as well. And, of course, they're Canadian. :-)
Considering the recent less than glowing reviews of Fedora, I'd think
a lot of people ought to try Libranet.
Way cool. Good work!
