I don't recall reading this tactic in the Linux Evangelism HOWTO (*made-up doc name). Someone should probably add it since it seems to work so well. ;-) Kudos, Aaron. P.S. When I left my previous employer (a Microsoft-only shop) a year ago (due to cut-backs in staffing), I was frustrated with the lack of response to reason or alternative (even though licensing was killing them, and open source tools made supporting the environment much easier -- e.g. Ethereal). Now when I come back to consult occasionally, I find Ethereal on every monitoring station and Linux test clients being prepared.
