I reread your output and it says DHCP.

I have a very old shaw cable modem, and I always get a gateway back.
This may seem odd - if You still have a windows box around if you boot
it up does it get a gateway? 

If you can do this, and windows does get a gateway - you could try
entering it into Mandrake manually as a test (Although this would
suggest a problem/incompatibility between the DHCP server and the
Mandrake DHCP client).
