I would report this behavior to Vmware as a bug. They may or may not
accept it as that.
How come you prefer to rdesktop in rather than use the vmware console?
Just experimenting?

I am running a Linux host with Windows XP Pro on VMware. I put VMware into the
background and rdesktop to XP (on the same machine) - All works great.
The problem is that when I rdesktop into XP and then put a USB memory stick
into the PC, XP (VMware) does not recognise the USB stick. The problem is
that VMware does not have focus at that time and hence the USB event is not
registered.
What I need to know is if there is any way to force focus to VMware or force
the USB events to VMware without it having to have focus - all done via
script or programming.
Any ideas?
