Currently there are three servers hosting the FLOSS-CD ISO file. I have not watched to see the bandwidth usage but each server has been uploading about 1/3 of the file every time someone downloads it.

The exact amount could be hard to quantify until there is a more consistent number of people downloading it. At the peek times so far there have only been about two or three people downloading it, this will change when I make a public announcement about the image file.

For now the only people that know about the FLOSS-CD are the Alberta LUG members. I want to keep it that way until we have more static BitTorrentServers setup.

Anyone that wants to help out by running a static BitTorrentServer can do so using their dynamic IP home Internet. The static refers to the fact that their system is able to continue serving the ISO's even after a reboot or an IP change.

Home Windows users can also help out by running the BitTorrent client program and restarting it every time their computer boots.

This looks really cool. How much bandwidth does it use up on your
connection?
