Write to Via/nVidia/ATI/Intel/3Com/etc to complain that since their module doesn't work with your chosen platform, you'll need find a different VidCard/NIC/Modem/whatever. Explain that they were you first choice, you DID buy their product, but the lack of source means that you'll need to make a different decision. These companies want to sell hardware. If their drivers are getting in the way of selling that hardware, then they WILL change their methods. Heck, even Microsoft is moving towards making their source code publicly viewable. and they DO make money from their code. How much easier is it for a company where the code isn't the crown jewels.
