Can you give more details? Does the system see it when it boots up (try running dmesg to find out)? Can you mount cd-roms with it? If not, what errors are you getting. > My CD-ROM drive has been working nicely without any SCSI-emulation, > though I understand this is required in order to use a CD-RW and/or > DVD-ROM. You usually need ide-scsi emulation for cd-rw drives with pre-2.6 kernels. It's simply a matter of editing the /etc/lilo.conf file to pass a parameter to the kernel when you boot (/dev/hdx=ide-scsi I think). > Has anyone got a CD-RW working in Debian Woody, and if so, could you > send me details? I don't want to have to reinstall woody! Judging from my experience at the installfest, I don't think a reinstall would do you any good as the Debian installer doesn't seem to have very much hardware detection ;-) Good luck, Jesse _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca
