Hi all.

After getting Suse 9.1 installed at the installfest, I've been trying to get
it to update and/or install other packages from an FTP source (one of the CDs
seems to be bogus...). No problems getting the FTP source setup but when I
select my packages, I get a lot of dependancy warnings. Most of the
recommended solutions to the warnings are to downgrade one or more of the
dependancies. Assuming I have newer stuff on my box, I tell Yast to ignore
the warnings and continue. It installs the requested packages, in addition
to almost every dependancy I can think of (um, why is it installing gcc
again, after the install and it is there already?) Once it's done this, it
complains about a number of errors while installing packages, and I don't get
the software I want...

Any clues how to get around this? Has anyone else had problems yet?

btw, I did not update any packages after the install (on purpose), and am
trying to get the base packages installed, then do one upgrade...

Any tips are appreciated.

Shawn
