Subject: [clug-talk] determine if a daemon has crashed?

Does anybody know of an existing script/utility that can periodically
check to see if a specific process is still running?

We are having continual problems with amavisd crashing frequently. I was
hoping I could find something that can check the status of the daemon (via
Cron) and restart it if it has failed.
