None of the buttons seem to make a difference. I thought it was a good lead, so I tried different combinations of mouse buttons + ALT + SHIFT + CTRL, but none of them worked. Thanks for the idea, though. It got me into playing around with the File Associations (Settings menu => Configure Konqueror => File Associations) which I hadn't wanted to for fear of messing something up (I'm not confident in my understanding of the overall KDE architecture, and since I know Konqueror is tightly integrated, I worry how far my unwitting modifications may go...). I tried changing Settings menu => Configure Konqueror => File Associations => Known Type => text group => Left Click Action to 'Show file in embedded viewer' but no joy. So I took the existing setting from text/html to use for text/plain in hopes of getting it to use Konqueror. Now the prompt is for "Save" or "Open with 'Konqueror'", which is a step in the right direction (presumably) but subsequently I receive the error: "There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with text/plain, but it can't handle this file type". LIES! Lies, I tell you! ;-) If I paste http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.8 straight into the address bar, it loads find. If I use a hyperlink, it doesn't. Now I have two mysteries. :-P Perhaps this is a Konqueror profile configuration issue? I don't know.
