Unforuntely the MAC is up there for good. We don't control the mail archives and instead use a free 3rd party service (mail-archive.com) which does not allow deleting messages.

Very well, I agree that you can configure your mail client/system as you
see fit too.

After some discussion with the other Execs and Jeff Clement, we determined that this
was in fact a configuration setting in our mailing list software and Jeff had decided
that this method (of replying back to the list rather than the sender) would be more
appropriate to our needs.

I apologize if this is not your preferred way of dealing with a mailing list.

WRT the CLUG membership, I tend to forget to use smileys as I think they
are a pox on freedom of expression (or lack thereof). My attempt at wry
humour did not succeed. Perhaps when we get to know each other somewhat
better...

Well we have this more or less in common. People constantly accuse me of having terse
email. I won't refute it but I am really not as ANAL as some people would suggest.

As far as MAC addresses go, I'll be submitting the list to DeVry no later than Monday.
I will provide each person who has emailed me (yourself included) with DeVry's network
settings so you can get your gear config'd.

I don't believe that having your MAC made public is all that big a deal but as I said
I felt it was not information that everyone, EVERYWHERE needed to know. Peter's
comments were on the money. I try to encourage people to not post too many personal
details on the Net as often as I can, THEY know far too much about us as it is.

You are formally invited to tip a pint with us after the meeting (location TBD)

Jarrod

Greetings Jarrod,

No need to apologize since I deal with many mailing lists and
remembering the prefs for each of them is another scourge from
cyberspace.

Ah yes, I understand terseness very well.

Is it possible to remove the posted MAC from the mailing list since it
serves no other purpose?

I would be honoured to accept your invitation.
