A config file would most likely be a text file that I already mentioned
wouldn't be a huge problem. Plain text files (most config files under Linux)
are quite small. I don't see a point in mentioning a file size cap and that
gives people the idea that it is okay to send attachments. In certain
situations people may end up forwarding a message to clug-talk and in some
MUA's that is done as an attachment but unless that forwarded email had it's
own attachment it should be fairly small. An email after all should just be
simple text. (I hear the flames now)

This point was meant to discourage people trying to send binaries and overly
large files that would rack up our throughput on our hosting server,
otherwise tie up disk space as Aaron mentioned and just plain annoy the hell
out of people in general. Like I said and you repeated, you could send a link
to a file on a server (sorry left off the server part, figured that was
understood).

Unfortunately this translates to asking people just not to send attachments...
period. Config files can be copied and pasted inline to your email so there
should be no need to attach it. Same goes for any email you might wish to
forward.

I apologize if the tone of my emails is coming off as angry, I'm not really
angry but I do find explaining minutae tedious at times. The concensus
appears to be getting a page up on the website explaining these guidelines so
that we don't have to keep prattling on about this. It will be done when we
can get to it.

Curtis you expanded on things I said beautifully, thank-you!
