Well with that kind of a recommendation, I guess I HAVE TO buy an Athlon 64 :D Seriously though, this class of processor topped my list so that part is assured. Socket 939 is also what I should be looking at, thanks to everyone who suggested this, I didn't just want to go with "higher is better" for pin number. I don't know what NCQ is. I would be surprised if I got a SATA drive anytime soon but you never know. > We have ASUS A8V motherboards, and I'm really happy with 'em. They DON'T > support NCQ though. Yup, Asus have never given me one single problem. > Always look for Gentoo. :) > Suse works fine on them too. But Gentoo is always better. I coulda guessed which distro you would recommend :P Thanks to everyone who replied. Now I just have to wait till the Christmas drain on my account is over. :( - -- Jarrod Major GPG Fingerprint: FA4A 1EA3 A0EE A842 07BB 804C 0090 14F6 BE6E DE3D Registered Linux User: #224211 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iQCVAwUBQdTSwwCQFPa+bt49AQLquwP9GxpuupOcNDX0LagpvwDo24RGDM0ATeEn 3kb1l5lkKcvj7EQnlaRApTZH29oR5riTahDqTti+WTTj1vxgYGpPd2pja1G31Fcg uu+MUPvDX7W1sHwkwA579byyWT0Y5dDZIDZVon83qag+zaDgrhF/c81NHMspfwo6 AsnhHZ8F3+M= =LMJ0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
