Sorry, but I just have to chime in here. The box they gave me at work is a Toshiba with _dual_ PIV (1.4? GHz) processors running Win XP (Home?!? Not sure). It's a _pig_! My three year old Inspiron (single PIII, 700 Mhz) running Linux is a screamer in comparison. The cpu in the thing is far less important than the software you choose to run on it (I very much wanted to go AMD when I bought this thing, but almost nobody was selling laptops with AMD chips in them then). Thank gawd I'm smart enough to stay away from Bill's bloatware. Three years down the line and this thing's blowing the doors off a dual PIV! If ever there was a proof of the superiority of Linux, this is it for me. -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
