I just found this awesome SSH trick (though I'm sure it's common knowledge to 
most...)

If you do something like so:

ssh -X [EMAIL PROTECTED] /opt/kde/bin/kcontrol

You run the kcontrol program (Control Center) from the remote machine - 
graphically!  So, with this command, you can manage other computers using 
their own graphical tools - just change the file to be run.  You don't need 
to be running VNC or RDP anymore (though they still have their places)...

I can't wait to try this on a windows box with Putty...  (too bad I don't have 
a windows box here anymore.. )

Oh, the remote computer has to be running an X windows server for this to 
work.

I was so impressed, I wanted to share - hope I'm not stating the obvious to 
everyone else but me....
