don't you need x windows on the local machine?

I just found this awesome SSH trick (though I'm sure it's common knowledge to most...)
If you do something like so:
ssh -X [EMAIL PROTECTED] /opt/kde/bin/kcontrol
You run the kcontrol program (Control Center) from the remote machine - graphically! So, with this command, you can manage other computers using their own graphical tools - just change the file to be run. You don't need to be running VNC or RDP anymore (though they still have their places)...
I can't wait to try this on a windows box with Putty... (too bad I don't have a windows box here anymore.. )
Oh, the remote computer has to be running an X windows server for this to work.
I was so impressed, I wanted to share - hope I'm not stating the obvious to everyone else but me....
