VidaLinux failed at random spots during the install. But with the same CD I was able to install with no problems on my spare desktop drive. So I suspect it's failing on something related to the older hardware > Although you may not want to install the following they should also work > RHL9 Caldera(If nothing else works) OpenBSD FreeBSD NetBSD. I tried Suse again, without the KDE desktop - I'm looking at the default blackbox desktop right now... I also downloaded the first ISO for Debian and will probably take a look tomorrow... > Where did you get that laptop? I want to get a few like it! I had a client ask me if I could find a home for it (and a Toshiba 266). Of course, I wasn't going to say no... <grins> Check with Computer Trends - they carry some older laptops, at more or less reasonable prices... > Travis R. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
