Hi Evan,

You may have to enter the screen size manually, thru YAST, or run the auto
setup on the monitor itself. Some monitors do not get recognized during
installation.

Subject: [clug-talk] lcd monitor problem

Just got a new Samsung LCD17inch Monitor. Running Suse 9.2 after I plugged it in the screen is too big to fit on the monitor so stuff is cut off. Any ideas?

Cool, thanx guys I'll give these all a try, I was thinking it may also be the graphics card, ATI Rage Mobility P AGP 2X. The monitor is plugged into a notebook which has a very defective screen so the LCD is pretty much the primary display now, kinda a stop gap measure until new notebook is affordable.
