Like I said last month, we have used Vonage for over a year now and it rocks. You just missed the rebate from Staples which ended Jan 31 -- basically you pay about $20 for the router.

With all the features it offers, it is cheaper than Telus. You can take it on holidays with you if there is a broad band connection. It uses your normal telephone hardware (no computer -- nothing against computers, same reason why I don't use my knife, fork and spoon on my Swiss army knife to eat dinner.) Don't need any additional hardware (have always had problems with laptop drivers).

Just bought 3 Vonage units at Christmas, 2 for the office and 1 for home. Planning to replace Telus with Vonange -- don't know for sure, but I think I get to have an unlisted number without having to pay the do not publish fee. BTW, there is a no-network call forward as well -- if your internet is down, it redirects your phone to a pre-determined number. It has also dropped another $5 last month on their rate.

Still have not converted the home phone yet, just waiting for a quiet spell.
