Nope, just a matter of patience, research, and experience. And the belief
that sometimes computers crash if they are not rebooted occassionally. If
you have the patience, you'll get the experience - and researching a problem
helps.
Something im good with linux but not windows I know i should start with
windows but i never find what i need like i do linux
This isn't much different from *nix in that sense.... But, with
Windows, you have to remember that the fancy interfaces "hide the hard stuff"
for you, so you don't need to know what file to edit to make a change - just
run the interface and click in the right spots. Of course, you have to trust
the interface is doing things right.
I wouldn't mind knowing the real files the GUI configures it might help
me understand it more.
Windows users have been conditioned to think that rebooting is OK,
Since i got used to linux i hate rebooting unless needed
and that
rebuilding a workstation every year or so is normal.
when i was using windows only it was about once a month. And i thought
it was _very_ normal
Part of the "blame"
falls to the OS that promotes this, and part to the consultants/hobbiest/next
door neighbor, who don't know about or don't promote an alternative.
I always carry around about 10 plastic dual cd holders one side has
gnoppix and the other knoppix at school these can fly out when people
start talking about they're problems with windows.
(I'm
guilty of that in my earlier days with computers - all of two years ago...,
but I've seen the light.. <grins>)
I started using linux only a year ago and am disapointed i didn't learn
about it before that becuase it would have saved me SOOOOO much hate at
computers.
