Hey Group, Dave and I finally got together and whipped the CLUG books into shape. We got all the receipts and bank statements in order and generally got prepared for the audit that was to take place on Saturday.
Saturday, the Financial Statement was prepared along with schedules for income and expenditures. Copies of the 2004 ledger were made for the auditors. Dave and I met with Dany Allard and David Watkins to do the audit. Thanks again to William Astle for being on standby. Dany and David were very thorough in their investigations. The asked very good questions and we were able to answer them all. I am happy to report that we had no problem balancing the books and there were no orphaned transactions. We ended up with an anonymous donation of $20 the year previous that none of us could account for. It was suggested that the deposit fairy magically inserted an extra $20 but this is just a theory. So the Financial Statement is signed, sealed and ready to present to the group this Wednesday at the AGM and to subsequently submitted to the Alberta Government. The next Executive will be responsible for it then. :D I want to say a big thanks to Dany and Dave Watkins for their efforts. It took us a little over two and half hours to complete the audit. Also a big thanks to Dave Bourassa and his wife Sharon for providing the venue and the vittles once again. It was nice to do the audit in a relaxed comfortable environment and to be able to talk and nibble. It made the drudgery of the task a lot less obvious. See you all Wednesday.
