I think this would be a gross error on our part. I held off in replying to this thread as I wanted to give others a chance to put their opinions forward first. I too have muddled through several revisions of what I want to say as I now feel this list is under scrutiny (or more scrutiny than before at least). With all due respect to Mr. Jeans I think we should decline the offer. I am with Jesse and Szemir and countless others... we should be focusing on Linux and Open Source topics or on things relating to CLUG itself rather than opening the doors to more companies. This was just the kind of thing I was afraid would happen when we let VMWare come the first time. It set a precedent. Sigh, again, you can't please everyone. There do seem to be a number of people interested in what Mr. Jeans has to say but I suspect this will end up showing an uglier side to CLUG. I think people will be less reserved and more opinionated in their arguments if we let him come, which may not serve the grou in the long-run. I also suspect that people who would usually attend might stay away if we let him come. I for one would not be inclined to attend such a meeting. This is not a head-in-the-sand manoeuvre but rather one of determining how I want to spend my time, and I would rather not waste it at a meeting where a MS Pitch-man will be present and given time to spread more of his company's FUD. No thank-you. BTW, I don't have a problem with us Having Novell or IBM in, they at least are behind Linux.
