No worries, I clearly remember sitting in front of a monitor trying to just catch the "OK" box which was *allmost* in view, until someone reached over and showed me, as you said "D'oh!" I do think the system should be set up somehow to avoid this happening, minor but still a bug.
On my laptop (a 733 PIII with an 800x600 screen... it was a gift so I had no
choice) I usually set the default font to something that looks good small, like
at 8 pts or less. I also use a small border decoration.
The kicker bar I set to tiny for size, and I usually hide it when working.
Most of the time I just run fluxbox.
