Patrick Linux in itself cannot damage your hardware, however, linux does give you more control over your hardware than some other OSes. By manually configuring some of the hardware specs, you can damage your hardware. I fried a monitor because I cranked up the frequency too high. Pretty kewl smoke show I must admit. lol However most devices now have safeguards to prevent this type of issue.
