Hello Mel Broadhurst, Mel Walters, and Gustin Johnson,

I selected completely remove open office from the synaptic menue, and an
additional three packages were selected for complete removal.

I then applied the selection and open office was completely removed,
which included seeing the word "purge" appear among other words on the
console screen.

I then marked "openoffice.org" for install and the other three packages
were added to the list. I then applied this selection, and presumably
open office was installed again.

But when I went to use open office, I clicked on open office calc and
nothing happened.

Possibly Mel Walters might be able to come over some time this weekend
to see what to do. I will be unavailable on Friday evening, however.

Regards,

Michael
