I think I just like the underdog. I was a Mac user back in the day, then I got an x86 machine. I used Windows for about 5 years, and i just hated it. In 2000 I found an alternative and have never looked back. I now use Linux exclusively. About the underdog thing, I think that's the reason I used Gnome as well. Well that and the fact that KDE 1.x sucked.
