It must be obvious ... but if I were you I would check
all modified 
files in /etc /usr/bin /usr/sbin /usr/local/bin and so
on just to be sure that I wasn't hacked . Man for
"find" helps here :)
Of course you have md5 check sum for all critical
files ... thus it wouldn't be a problem.
Indeed , you provided very little info for any
reasonable advice . 
A lot of things matter here ... 
monitoring /proc & /var/log and so on ...
