What distro was Michael running again? I have been using VMs under Debian and K/Ubuntu for years (VMWare and more recently qemu), with file sizes well in excess of 2GB. This seems like a weird limitation to have intentionally, and is a nice step back to windows NT and 9x. I guess I would be interested to see if tar works. runnning ulimit for me returns "unlimited", though there is no man entry and the command line options are less than intuitive. I guess there is some google digging in my future :) I just had a peek at k3b, and when I create a new data dvd project, I see the file system in a window near the top. Right clicking in here brings up a menu, when I select "view" from this menu, there is an option for hidden files. Dragging the whole home directory into my new k3b project in the bottom window, automatically triggered a prompt asking if I wanted to include the hidden files. Hope this helps.
