I did a make clean, ./configure --enable-layout=RedHat, make, make install. No errors - at least none that I detected.
According to httpd.layout and httpd.conf, it should have created directories such as: /usr/local/apache2 /etc/apache2 /var/log/apache2 ..etc Instead the directories are: /usr/local/httpd.. and apache will not load (apachectl start). I can't recall the error. I have looked at ./configure --help and also apache.org docs but have not found out how to fix this. Looking at the binary install of apache on Debian and Suse, the directories are scattered and inconsistent. I just want to ensure an install based on apache defaults.
