For some reason KDE is no longer able to handle jpg images.  PNG, GIF,
etc are all working fine.  Refer to the linked screenshot to see the
problem.

When I open up the jpg in a kde based app (gwenview, kuickshow, kview)
all that was displayed was a blank screen.  Using non-kde apps such as
gimp, eog etc, the images display fine.

Using krita, when I browse to open a file, with the filter set to "All
Supported Files" only PNG, GIF etc. appear as files that krita can open.

Any ideas?
