Please be also aware that reiserfs currently exist as reiser3 and reiser4, implemented in fsck.reiserfs and fsck.reiser4 repectively. If you get something like "unrecognized filesystem", do _NOT_ start recovery, you will need the "reiserfs4" utilities instead. (Came across that myself just last week).
