I agree with William, if you can figure out Apache, you can figure out
Bind.  And as he mentioned, and pretty much anyone who's ever set up a
DNS server will tell you, the O'Reilly book "DNS & BIND" is pretty
much _the_ book to read.  The BIND Admistrator Reference Manual,
available at http://www.isc.org/index.pl?/sw/bind/ both online and in
PDF format, is also very useful.

I bothered doing it, mostly for educational reasons but also for
cheapskate reasons.  I only own a small number of domains, so what I
do is run the master DNS server myself, and get free secondary service
from www.twisted4life.com, www.xname.org, and my registrar.  Yes,
three secondaries is way overkill for my needs, but hey, I could do
it, and it cost me nothing, so what the heck, why not.  :-)  Lots of
places seem to charge for being the master server, but will be a slave
for free, so it is of economic benefit to run the master yourself.
