Hi all.

I've been talking with a few folks at and since the last monthly meeting. It
seems that there might be interest in putting together a group with a focus
on business matters.

The thinking is that there are a number of people in CLUG, with various skills
related to business. Everything from marketing, bookkeeping, IT, management,
etc. So, just like we share tech knowledge with CLUG, why not form a group
to share the business knowledge. This sharing would be accomplished through
routine meetings, presentations, and maybe workshops, and would ideally be
free for anyone to take part.

This message is more to see what kind of interest is out there for this, other
than the few people I've spoken with already. Right now, there is a more or
less clean slate on this topic, and any ideas are worth exploring. There ARE
professional organizations like this in existence (CIPS, etc.), but I do not
know of any that are community based like Linux User Groups. (let me know if
I'm wrong on this).

Because the idea is originating through CLUG, I'd like to keep this somehow
related to CLUG (a special interest group maybe?). But I do see where this
could potentially be unrelated to CLUG's activities in the long run.

What are your thoughts and comments?

Shawn
