Actually, thats how this was developed. Some smarty pants with a laptop decided that they could turn it around and pull a fast one on the adults. =)
On a side note, I've just discovered you can do the same thing with Audacity ... goto Generate > Tone and put in a frequency. That one is somewhere around 15khz (15000.0 in audacity), while the "Mosquito" (teen repellant) was around 18 I think. Through this method I've determined one of two things
- I can't hear anything over 16khz
- My speakers don't get up to 16khz
