Gizmo is mono and SKype is stereo. I soke with Michael Robertson not too long ago about Gizmo. There are significant differences between how Gizmo and Skype conduct business. Most notably, Skype's mixing and sync occurs on the call participants computers whereas Gizmos is done 'in house'. Therefore, the assertion that Skype is better or worse than anything else is really based on very subjective experiences. I can call the Netherlands with Skype and have an excellent quality conversation, yet call my buddy down the street on the POTS system and barely be able to hear him. Many, many variables with Skype.
Gizmo, on the other hand, has predictable quality. I know I can use a Gizmo call at the end of it. I never know with Skype until I get down to the business of editing it.
