The two incidents were unrelated as far as I heard. I spoke to a Shaw representative during the outage and he said it covered all of Southern Alberta. I doubt that Shaw would have so much running through a single above ground wire that it could knock out half of the province. My son called me when the cable and internet shut down but the phones (ours is through Shaw) continued. A couple of hours later we had cable back but the phones died until after midnight. I'm not sure when internet came back as I'd gone to bed by then.

Apparently two pedestrians (co-workers) were injured by the downed power line. The guy got hit and knocked down by the power line but managed to shield the lady. Both got some burns. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
