The line does not have to be in there, according to the man page ( http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man5/smb.conf.5.html ) "By default it is the same as the first component of the host's DNS name." So maybe just changing the first component of the host's DNS name and restarting the samba service would have sufficed.
