yes, with enough time and effort you can get an IMAP server, an SMTP server, 
config in LDAP, spam and antivirus, etc ..... but have fun with calendaring 
or GUI configuration.

btw.. don't know if anyone caught it, but there's now a Qt4 GUI configuration 
app for kolab as well.
