Just a stab in the dark and may be completely out in left field.

Is it possible to create a bash script that can run under sudo, but would be 
able to run as the user then run the second portion as root.

My thinking is similar to a console in which you are logged in as root, but 
you can su user and run as that user.

Just a thought.
