Probably not. I kinda jumped the gun :) being self-taught I just picked up on control structures, data types etc as I went. I work mostly with PHP now, so I only think about the difference between a string and an integer when necessary. Do you really think they'll get into pointers? That's when a lot of people run screaming :) I'd agree, it will be closer to a C class using a C++ compiler. Data types are important but boring :) so drink coffee before class and pay attention.
