/pity post
I think this'd be a great idea... perhaps just a CLUG OT mailing list - where us geeks can talk about not-necesarily-linux-related stuff.

My apologies for correct your use of Latin -- I believe 'at all' was
meant to be 'et al.'  which is short for 'et alii' meaning 'and
others'.  This is parallel to 'etc.' which is short for 'et cetera'
meaning 'and the rest'.

I know there has been heated debates in the past about the mailing list
on whether there should be additional splits based on interest.  After
all many luggers like the social aspect of the group as well as the
technical aspects.  There are many that would like to bounce ideas not
related to Linux and Floss with like minded individuals.  Rather than
trying to temper Mitchell's youthful exuberance (which after months of
trying it appears to be an abysmal failure), why not reconsider having a
social mailing list.

I believe that what is good for Clug traffic and prominence will also be
good for Linux and Foss.  I for one would stand with Aaron and would
rather have the clug-talk list more on topic, however I have personally
benefited from many of the OT discussion.  By separation of the
communication, then we all can choose to either subscribe, ignore or do
both as our time and interest permits.

id cognito errata spud - "I think, therefore I yam" :-)
