Hi All, Recently there have been comments about the high signal to noise ratio on clug-talk, our main mailing list. As many are aware, we have had some of the more senior members of the list unsubscribe for that very reason. As a result we have created a new mailing list, CLUG-Tech, http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-tech_clug.ca which should serve as an appropriate outlet for the more technical discussions.
CLUG-Tech is specifically for the purpose of discussing Linux and other Open Source operating systems, applications, the technical issues and problems users may have when using them. Questions such as "How do I connect my Windows box to a Samba server?" are NOT appropriate on CLUG-Tech list. Members of CLUG-Talk can still post Linux related questions, answers etc while having discussions on what's the best way to BBQ penguin steaks etc. Nothing will change there. However, if you're looking for a PURELY TECHNICAL DISCUSSION LIST clug-tech is more appropriate. CLUG-Tech will be a member moderated list. If you have any questions please give any of the Exec a shout. Cheers, Dave Watkins President - Calgary Linux Users Group W: www.clug.ca E: president_at_clug.ca V: 403.701.5746
