I believe all PCI wireless cards require PCI 2.2 (all that I know of anyway)
which your Deskpro does not have. However this is just off the top of my
head.

Subject: [clug-talk] Wireless PCI card not seen by system/lspci.

Hi all,
I have a weird problem. I am attempting to get a PCI wireless card working
in an older machine (Compaq Deskpro 4000, sub-desktop with 1 shared PCI/ISA
slot).

The wireless card is simply not seen/detected by the system, it fails to
show up in 'lspci'. I am confident that the card functions (does in another
machine) and the slot functions for another card.

I am stumped, so any comments would be welcome.
Simon.
