As i understand it, we do have someone from SUN, to visit us for February and
present us with an extensive chunk of information regarding Java, openJava
and GPL and all that wend down. It looks to be intresting to boot, more so,
we could get intrest from Java people, I know they are worried about the
GPL , I was trying to calm them a bit, but i guess they choose to be
worried , but nevertheless the presentation would prove to be very
intresting. For January we had to find a presentation, and we did get a good
one regarding VOIP from Simon. I am sure it will be a blast.

Dave has delegated me to handle the presentations in the upcoming period, that
is why i am responding in detail to presentation connected postings.

the Asterisk presentation is a natural after the voip, so i will be looking
for a presentation on Asterisk in March ....

I think the GPL presentation would be better after GPL V3 is finalized,
sometimes in Q2 as expected.

KDE stuff is allways welcome, specially from Aaron, i guess he is busy now,
but will be less so after the next release, a more better time to tell us
about the new and changed things, also to tell us about the new 3d engine /
api that looks really promising even after seeing the current one :-)

I think IpCop definitely deserves a good presentation, it has been quite the
time since we had a firewall or networking presentation. I would also go into
installing extra modules onto IpCop for content filtering and Parenting
purposes, yep, kids are getting older ...

GNUPG and Tellico, very intresting, specially the Tellico, did not know about
that one. I would add KGpg for the GNUPG, it does make life a lot simpler
with your and other keys also. I think these 2 subjects would well fit a
single big presentation or maybe 3 mini presentations on the same day
depending on how you want to look at it.

GNUCash, and maybe even add sql-ledger is a big subject, i would wonder if we
could get an accountant , or someone familiar with accounting to shed some
more light of how these programs are meant to work. I could contact the
sql-ledger team lead in Edmonton :-) He might be intrested in a good
presentation about Ledger, And maybe we could also give justice to GNUCash.

I prefer doing the discussion here in talk, and do the boring detail in
private e-mail afterwords, regarding the subject, scope, blurb, etc ...
it is allways a good idea to have as many $.02 CAD added to the discussion as
possible.

Cheers
Szemir

Ps.: HAPPY NEW YEAR .... :-)
