I see two conversations trying to happen. One covering the
mechanics/logistics of HOW to best do a workshop, and a second on WHAT
to do a workshop on. So, lets separate the second conversation so we
can get some ideas of what is desired...

It would seem to me the FIRST workshop should be on VMWare server.
Other than that I don't think the order matters much, but here's what
I'd like to see (not necessarily in a single workshop).

Server Topics
- - VMWare Server
- - Networking Basics (architecture, user management, etc.)
- - Email system (Postfix, Exim, Qmail, etc)
- - Groupware systems (Kolab, Scalix, Citadel, OpenXchange, etc.)
- - Network File Systems/Sharing (Samba, NFS, etc.)
- - Web Server (Apache Configs, alternate servers, etc.)
- - Database Servers (MySql, Postgres, etc.)
- - Package Management Systems from an enterprise perspective
        (apt-get, rpm, portage, etc)
- - LDAP (configuration, authentication, etc.)

Other Topics
- - Content Management Systems (Mambo/Joomla, Drupal, etc)
- - Vector Graphics (Inkscape, Xara, etc.)
- - Image manipulation (Gimp, Krita, etc)
- - Open Office (more advanced topics, linking to a database, etc.)
- - Patent Law and Intellectual Property (an education take on this,
not a discussion of why they're bad.)
- - Bash Shell Scripting
- - Web Development with PHP, Ruby, Python, etc.
- - Programming Languages (Python, Ruby, Java, C/C++, etc.)
- - Wine and Cedega (getting Windows Games running on Linux)
- - KDE / GNOME configurations
- - Other Windows Managers / Desktop Environments
- - Media creation and playing (sound/video)
- - Peer to Peer technologies (bit torrent, gnutella, etc.)
- - IRC

I think that's a healthy start. I know I can learn more in all these
areas, but am curious what others would consider more important.

Shawn
