It depends.  The new modems have improved latency, but the actual
throughput is limited at the other end for the standard package.  Their
new "Nitro" package requires a new modem but does actually deliver on 25
Mbit down 1 Mbit up (yes you read that right, 25 Mbit of download
insanity).  So for the fastest speed you need one of the new modems, but
you still have to pay to see an actual increase.
