-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 While I like the idea, I see the devil being in the details.
For instance, this would add an accounting overhead, and probably an inventory management requirement, that does not exist at this time. If a volunteer were to step forward to take this on, with the appropriate oversight, it could be possible. But I'm sure there's more to it than simply applying for an exception and then selling stuff. I'm willing to bet there'd be a reporting requirement to make sure we are not selling to the general public. Sooo, we would need a dedicated volunteer for this (who may or may not be on the exec), and we need more details of the program. Better yet - if we can get the program turfed, then this is all moot.. :) Afterall, they're talking about taxing the same blank CDs/DVDs we use to burn our distros on. Using them for distros has nothing to do with the recording industry. (yes, yes, this particular instance is targeting MP3 players, but the media is still in there somewhere.. :) Shawn Tek Budda wrote: >> Cheers, >> Simon. >> >> PS.
