FOund this is last months Linux Format. Xvidcap: hsourceforge.net/projects/xvidcap "xvidcap is a screen capture enabling you to capture videos off your X-Window desktop for illustration or documentation purposes. It is intended to be a standards-based alternative to tools like Lotus ScreenCam." Captures video in a variety of formats as wella s audio and can work from command line or a gui. The developer even provides a couple of instructonal videos whihc i assume were captures with it. Couldn't see any stuttering or anything.
