Hi all,

I was given an IBM ThinkPad A21e laptop completely free from one of the
folks at work! A little beat up but no big deal. The problem...it is
password locked for both the BIOS and to even boot it up. I know the
BIOS password, but the other one I have no idea nor does the old owner.
I have tried taking it apart to see if I can locate the CMOS battery but
so far no dice! So I wondering if anyone with more experience servicing
laptops has any ideas?

If I can get it booted up I want to load K/Ubuntu on it, so I am a bit
keen and eager to get it working. It looks like it has 144 MB of RAM a
10 GB HDD, a 14"screen, networking, modem, and a 700Mhz processor so it
looks like it will be a half decent little unit...providing I can get
past the dang passwords.

I haven't been able to find much documentation on it, but I will
continue searching. Anyone have any more ideas, I would be much
appreciated? Please contact me off-list.

Cameron
